报告人简介：Maarten de Rijke，荷兰阿姆斯特丹大学教授、信息与语言处理系统实验室主任、世界最著名的信息检索领域专家之一。Maarten de Rijke教授领导的ILPS团队在多个计算机领域顶级会议如NIPS、WWW、SIGIR等以及顶级期刊如ACM TOIS, IEEE TKDE等上发表论文700余篇，据谷歌学术统计，Maarten de Rijke教授目前论文引用数量超过17000次，h-index为60。Maarten de Rijke教授担任SIGIR、WWW、WSDM和CIKM等大会主席，目前同时担任顶级期刊ACM TOIS和FnTIR的主编。
报告摘要：
Learning-based approaches to information problems such as document ranking are data hungry: they need considerable amounts of training data to achieve a good performance. Over the years, many approaches have been put forward to automatically or semi-automatically generate training material for ranking problems. In the talk I will survey recent advances and outline future directions, especially in view of personal search assistants and of neural network-based approaches to document retrieval.
