报告摘要：In light of the significant role online social networks have played in recent events and crisis, it has become increasingly urgent to understand the diffusion process of information spreading over social interactions. However, modeling and analysis of information diffusion in online social networks are challenging due to the intricacy of human dynamics and social interactions, the obscure underlying diffusion network structures, the vast scale of online social networks, and the heterogeneity and diversity of social media.In this talk, I will present an innovative approach, dynamic mathematical modeling, to explore information diffusion from both spatial and temporal dimensions in order to reveal details on how information propagates through individuals at different distances from the information source. I will present a diffusive logistic model based on partial differential equations to characterize the spatio-temporal information diffusion in online social networks and demonstrate the accuracy of the model verified with real datasets collected from a popular news aggregation website.
报告人简介：王峰,Associate Professor in School of Mathematical and Natural Sciences, Arizona State University West Campus. 2005年Computer Science, University of Minnesota Twin Cities获得博士学位，1999年北京大学计算机科学系硕士学位，1996年武汉大学计算机科学系学士学位。王峰博士的研究领域包括networking research in general, with emphasis on algorithm approximation towardscombinatorial optimization problems in wireless sensor networks and online social networks,mathematical modeling in online social networks, and graph abstractions towards modeling interactionsfor network security and management.担任National Science Foundation Panelist(2015, 2012, 2008); Associate Editorial Board of Computational Social Networks; Associate Editor of Discrete Mathematics, Algorithms and Applications; Technical ProgramCommittee Member for IEEE INFOCOM( 2011-2014), IEEE GC (2014, 2011, 2010), etc. 发表多篇论文于IEEE Transactions onMobile Computing,IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications，IEEE/ACM Transactions on Networking,Security andCommunication Networks Journal,Theoretical Computer Science,IEEE GlobalCommunications Conference,International Conference on Wireless Algorithms, Systems, and Applications (WASA) ,InternationalConference on Distributed Computing Systems (ICDCS),等期刊和会议。
