报告人简介:Prof. Ziyu Shao received the PhD degree in information engineering from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2010. During 2010-2013,he was a postdoctoral fellow at the CUHK and a visiting scholar at Princeton University. He has been an Assistant Professor at  the School of Information Science and Technology at ShanghaiTech University since January 2014. He is an Adjunct Associate
Professor with Shenzhen Research Institute at the CUHK. He has been invited as the Review and Consulting Expert in Information
Technology Commission of Shenzhen Municipal Government since 2012. His research interests include cloud computing, mobile
 computing, distributed algorithm design, network coding and network optimization.

报告摘要:
Complex Engineered Networks are everywhere: data centre networks, Internet, wireless communication systems, power grids,
transportation networks, and more. These networks have evolved into complex systems with behaviours and characteristics
beyond the characterization and prediction possible by traditional modelling, analysis and design approaches. This talk introduces
recent efforts to understand complex engineered networks from an optimization perspective, including a general framework that
guides distributed algorithm design for solving combinatorial network optimisation problems.
