Professor Hai Zhuge is an ACM Distinguished Scientist, an ACM Distinguished Speaker, and a Fellow of British Computer Society.
He has made systematic contribution to semantics modeling, knowledge modelling and practice of the cyber-infrastructure for knowledge sharing and management through lasting fundamental innovation on knowledge, semantics, dimension and
self-organization. He is extending his research to a long-term plan of cyber-physical society, which concerns multi-disciplinary methodological, theoretical and technical innovations with significant practical impact. His details are available at:

报告摘要：
Big data have attracted great attention in science, industry and society. However, its nature and the fundamental challenge have
not been recognised. Big data research is developing with the evolving scientific paradigm, the fourth industrial revolution, and
transformational innovation of technologies. This lecture tries to answer the following questions: What is the nature of big data?
What kind of infrastructure is requested to support not only big data management and analysis but also knowledge discovery and
management? What is the fundamental challenge of big data computing? Can we find an approach to mapping big data into
knowledge space?
