报告摘要:With widely deployed wireless telecommunications systems and the surge of popularity of smart mobile devices (e.g., smart phones), modern healthcare systems have revolutionized the way we are living and have steadily improve our quality of life. Mobile health (m-Health) represents one of the important developments along this line, which target at managing the healthcare of people on the move by using smart devices to collect and process needed medical information and provide timely care. Unfortunately, the major stumbling block in the wide deployment of m-Health systems is security and privacy. In this talk, we will focus on the design of a diagnostic m-Health system to articulate how we effectively address security and privacy issues by utilizing a few emerging cryptographic tools. Moreover, we will demonstrate how we shift the computational complexity to the cloud without compromising the security and privacy of medical data, diagnostic program, and participants (including patients and healthcare service providers).

报告摘要:As the growth of social networks in recent years, user generated data, such as videos, photos and blogs, has become an important source of information in our life. However, user’s data are often locked in by a few giant application service providers (ASP), such as Facebook, Twitter, Tencent, etc. There are two drawbacks with this structure: 1) The ownership of user’s data belongs to ASPs. The sharing of the user’s data cannot go across different ASPs to reach broader audience. 2) User’s online social groups are fragmented by ASPs. That is, the members of a user’s social group, such as “friends” or “colleagues”, are scattered among different ASPs. In this talk, we present a global storage system as the infrastructure of the Internet. In this platform, users have their own storage to store their data and social relations, and thus the ownership of users’ data and users’ social relations are returned back to the users. The system is an open structure that it provides standard API to interact with ASPs. Users are able to publish or share their data with targeted social groups regardless which ASPs they are with. This global storage system integrates networking service with traditional file service and can support real-time data communication. It can also support privacy-preserving information publication-subscription in this public platform.
